Including these makes it much faster to help:
- Your device and iOS version (e.g. iPhone 14, iOS 18.2)
- The app version, shown at the bottom of the Profile screen
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
- A screenshot, if it's something you can see
Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. You can create and join sessions anonymously. Signing in only
adds cross-device history and planning.
Who can see my location?
Nobody outside your session. Hovi's screens only ever show the
calculated midpoint and your own distance and never anyone's address.
The location you submit is stored on the session and shared with the
people you gave the code to, because each phone needs every point to
work out the midpoint. It is deleted with the session. See the
Privacy Policy.
How long does a session last?
24 hours. After that the session and everything in it is deleted
automatically.
Someone is being abusive in chat. What do I do?
Press and hold their message. You can report it to us, or block them;
blocking hides their messages from you in that session and any
future one, and they aren't told. We review every report and can
remove content or suspend accounts. See
Acceptable use.
How do I delete my data?
Profile → Clear my data, or Delete account to remove everything
permanently.
